G1000® NXi UPGRADE FOR KING AIR
The Ultimate King Air Evolution: Garmin G1000 NXi Retrofit
Skye Avionics specializes in the Garmin G1000 NXi King Air installation.
Breathe new life into your King Air C90, 200, 300, or 350. Legacy mechanical gauges and outdated avionics increase pilot workload and limit your aircraft’s operational potential. Skye Avionics provides a turnkey G1000 NXi glass cockpit retrofit that transforms your flight deck into a high-performance, safer, and more efficient environment.
Why Make the Switch to G1000 NXi?
-
Significant Weight Savings: Replace hundreds of pounds of old wiring and heavy mechanical instruments. The G1000 NXi typically saves an estimated 250 lbs, allowing for more fuel, more luggage, or an extra passenger.
-
Unrivaled Situational Awareness: Ditch the "steam gauges" for a massive 15” multi-function display (MFD) and dual 10.4” primary flight displays (PFDs). With high-speed graphics rendering and LED backlighting, your flight data is clearer than ever.
-
Precision Safety Technology:
-
SVT™ (Synthetic Vision): A 3D virtual reality view of terrain and obstacles, even in IFR conditions.
-
Garmin ESP™: Electronic Stability and Protection provides a gentle corrective force if you exceed pitch or roll limits while hand-flying.
-
SurfaceWatch™: Advanced runway monitoring to prevent taxiway takeoffs or landing on the wrong runway.
-
-
Operational Flexibility: Gain full WAAS LPV approach capability down to 200' minimums, RVSM access for high-altitude flight (FL290–FL410), and total ADS-B compliance.
Integrate Your Entire Mission
-
The G1000 NXi isn't just a display—it’s a fully integrated ecosystem. From the GFC 700 3-axis digital autopilot to the GWX 75 weather radar and Connext® connectivity for wireless flight plan transfers, every component is designed to work in perfect harmony.
The Skye Avionics Advantage
As a factory-trained Garmin dealer, Skye Avionics ensures your Garmin G1000 NXi King Air installation is handled with surgical precision. We specialize in complex retrofits, providing:
-
Minimal downtime to keep your operations moving.
-
Expert installation by technicians who know the King Air airframe inside and out.
-
Comprehensive post-install support and a 2-year Garmin warranty.
Unmatched Clarity from Taxi to Touchdown
Navigate with confidence using SafeTaxi™ for complex airport diagrams and SurfaceWatch™ to verify you are always on the correct runway. Once airborne, Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT™) transforms low-visibility challenges into a clear, 3D virtual landscape, acting as a tireless digital co-pilot that never takes its eyes off the terrain.
Streamline Your Instrument Scan
Eliminate the fatigue of "head-swing" between displays. Garmin’s HSI Mapping overlays a multi-function perspective map directly onto your Primary Flight Display (PFD). By integrating terrain, traffic, and weather into your primary scan, you stay focused on the flight path without ever losing the big picture.
Expand Your Operational Reach
Unlock access to thousands of additional runways with WAAS/LPV capability. The G1000 NXi allows you to fly rock-solid, GPS-guided vertical glidepaths down to minimums as low as 200 feet—even at airports without ground-based ILS. Fly more missions, reach more destinations, and navigate with total precision.
Industry-Leading Flight Control
The G1000 NXi includes the GFC™ 700 3-axis digital autopilot, providing professional-grade stability and precision. From smooth VNAV descent profiles to automated coupled go-arounds, the system handles the heavy lifting. Integrated with smart servos and a dedicated mode control panel, it delivers the crisp, reliable handling that King Air pilots demand.
Master the Elements with Precision Radar
Don’t just avoid weather—understand it. The integrated GWX™ 75 digital radar uses a high-definition 16-bit color palette to provide incredible detail of storm cell intensity and structure. By overlaying real-time radar returns directly onto your MFD, the G1000 NXi gives you the tactical data needed to navigate safely around convective activity with total confidence.
Watch How It Works

GAIN USEFUL PAYLOAD
Aircraft equipped with the G1000 NXi system add up to 250 lbs in useful load capacity on average.
EASY UPGRADE FROM G1000 FLIGHT DECK
The G1000 NXi system is pin-for-pin compatible with the original G1000 for minimum downtime during installation.
BROAD COMPATIBILITY
G1000 NXi is available for select King Air C90, 200, 300 and 350 series aircraft. It also supports many popular King Air upgrade STCs.

Learn More About the G1000
Garmin's G1000 retrofit suite integrates all primary flight, navigation, weather, terrain, traffic, radio frequency, engine and fuel data readouts on large-format, high-definition LCDs. The cockpit layout features a central 15" multi-function display (MFD), flanked by 10.4" primary flight displays (PFDs) at the pilot and copilot positions. Because it integrates so many components into 1 system, the G1000 comes in at a weight far lower than most typical avionics installs.
