Turbine Otter
Objective:
This aircraft was new to a long standing operator in the area. The focus of this project was to standardize this aircraft to the other turbine otter in their fleet.
There were also some panel modifications that were to be completed to bring the aircraft into compliance with specific STC’s.
Scope:
The scope was to remove the loran, install a Garmin GTX 327 Transponder, ACK Avionics A-30 Encoder, ACK Avionics E-04 406 ELT, Â Kenwood FM Transceiver and provisions for a portable GPS. As well move warning lights to a central position on the instrument panel and move various instruments into their proper positions.
Outcome:
The aircraft underwent substantial avionics work. While removing the old avionics systems the only thing left was 1 power wire and 1 ground wire to the existing VHF Comm. All of the avionics was rewired completely to provide the customer with reliable communications and a problem free system. Skye Avionics completed all of the sheet metal work required for mounting the radio’s, ELT and the mounting of all avionics components.
Once completed this aircraft was put to work immediately and has been getting a lot of air time and use. The project met the customers needs and they are very happy to have a reliable aircraft that has been rewired and reworked to modern standards.
